Role Description

Job Title - Engineering Manager

Location - Hockwold

Reporting to - Operations Director

Number of people managed directly - 1

Main purpose of the job - To manage the profitable operation of Living Power’s energy supply contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for all Health and Safety, environmental and operational aspects of the energy supply contracts.
  • Health and Safety: To ensure that all legislative requirements on each site are adhered to and continuously improved. To ensure that all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place and understood by all reports. To ensure that all COSHH assessments are understood and worked to by all reports.
  • To ensure all engines are serviced and maintained in line with the maintenance plan and with manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Administration: To ensure all maintenance records are kept in line with company requirements. To ensure that all legislative requirements are met. To provide operational, Health and Safety and financial reports to the REG Bio-Power management.
  • To liaise with the Project Management team to design Service Level Agreements with relevant maintenance contractors. SLAs to meet each customer’s specific requirements.
  • To manage the Service Level Agreements with the designated maintenance contractors and review contract performance on a quarterly basis.
  • To manage and consistently improve the company SCADA system.
  • To manage the performance of the internal Service Engineer and other direct reports.
  • To liaise with the Living Fuels management on the availability and quality of LF100 for all energy supply contracts.
  • To report relevant operational issues into the Project Development team.
  • To manage all energy supply contracts to agreed budget levels.
  • Customer Service: To identify and meet the needs of all delegated Customers and to offer advice, give support and problem solve when required.

Knowledge Base

  • Product/Technical: A sound knowledge of power generation plant in particular reciprocating engines. Engineering qualifications to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering area. An understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
  • IT and Communication Systems: Possesses a sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook. To understand the SCADA system.
  • Commercial Processes: Experience of developing and operating within financial budgets and disciplines.
  • Management: Experience of managing a team of maintenance sub-contractors.
  • Company: The structure and operating lines in existence.
  • Partners: Develop a thorough understanding of key partners of the business.

Skill Set

  • IT: The ability to effectively use Excel, Word and Outlook in meeting the needs of the business. To use Scada to manage the operational efficiency of each contract.
  • Telephone: Proficient use of the telephone, using a professional style in line with the company standards of telephone communication.
  • Relationship Management: Able to effectively represent the Company whilst meeting the needs of the business partner. Develop partner relationships through trust and performance.

Reporting to - Transport Manager

Experience - Minimum 5 years

Main purpose of the job - Supplying fuel to our increasing operations plus the collection of our raw materials

Responsibilities:

  • Supplying fuel to our increasing operations plus the collection of our raw materials
  • Overnight work will be required

Skill Set

  • Demonstrable pumped loading and unloading experience
  • HGV Class II Licence
  • Suitable, recent driving experience
